BOBO Boutique Hotel

The receptionist was helpful, but I didn't stay here. I only stopped by while looking for a good value hotel near An Chay Buffet, so take my impressions with a pound of salt. I can't really judge the service from 15 minutes. I saw room #302, which seemed maybe adequate, and asked whether there were superior rooms with a better mattress. There weren't. I didn't turn on the light, so maybe the room looks gloomy. The bed was large but hard, 1.5/5. The room's look was stark, 3/5. The WC was its best feature, 5/5. There was also one of those strange sex chairs, 3.5/5. The balcony existed, though it was so narrow it barely counted, 3/5. A tiny table and chairs seemed more irritating than useful, 2.5/5. No room safe, 0/5, and no breakfast at all, not even a light option of hot drinks with toast, rice, or fruit, 0/5. The price was 300K most nights and 600 on Saturday night. I checked the A/C filter: it needs a rinse, but it wasn't horribly dusty like those allergy vortexes in hotels where the filters seem forgotten for months, 3/5. The rooftop had no chairs and was really a staff laundry area; the stairs at the very top led to machinery, not a view. This may be fair value for VT, though so far I'm finding accommodation in Vung Tau poor value compared with Can Tho and HCMC. In general, 3.5/5.

Booking it for the five-minute walk to the bus station turned out to be a very good surprise. The hotel was clean and quiet, with large rooms. The bed was comfortable, the hot water and AC worked well, and the WiFi was excellent. Sometimes you get lucky, and we did this time.

A cafe downstairs was a nice bonus, and there were no noise problems. It was near a local market and not too far to walk to front beach. The rooms were clean, though the beds were very hard.

Really good value for the money. The hotel was easy to find, with signs pointing the way and a clearly visible name. The location was convenient, and the rooms felt fresh and new, with all the necessary facilities. White linen and towels smelled nice, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There's also a cafe with very affordable prices. Seems like it would suit locals and foreigners alike. Recommend 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
