Corvin Hotel

Being close to the beach and having a sea view are the hotel's best points. Inside, though, the place is disappointing. The windows are rusty, the toilet has lots of stains, and my sheet had a brown mark that looked like old blood or something similar. The room also doesn't match the photos. The pool is smaller than pictured, and the old wooden floor feels like it could give way underfoot. The hotel needs renovating, and the staff aren't nice.

The bathroom was the main downside for us: the light was poor, and the hot water kept swinging from scalding to cold. I stayed for two nights with my parents shortly before Christmas in a three-person room with one double bed and one single, overlooking the sea. The weather stayed gloomy and the water looked gray, but watching the white waves hit the sand was still nice. The beach is just across the road, and breakfast had a decent range of dishes. The price seemed fair for what we got, though I had a big Booking.com discount, so I can't say what the usual rate is.

The location right by the beach was the one redeeming feature. We were with family and had around ten rooms, and every one had some kind of problem. The rooms didn't look like the photos, some smelled strange, fridges didn't work, and the sheets looked as if they hadn't been properly washed or changed. When we asked for stained sheets to be replaced, the staff weren't happy about it. The manager, or whoever was in charge then, was especially rude when family members asked to change rooms. The rooms felt disgusting and unsafe, and the service from staff and management was horrible. I wouldn't recommend it.

The room had a disgusting, musty smell, and there was no point even getting into the bathroom. The safe didn't work, the TV was just for show with no network connection, and the table lamp looked ready to fall apart. The bed linen was stained and had an unpleasantly faded color, which I compared with a white towel in my photo. Nothing matched the website pictures, and everything was so old it seemed close to falling apart. There was no promised breakfast buffet, yet they charged 16€ for one day's breakfast. They said they'd contact the manager about refunding that charge, and I hope they handle it fairly. I'll write again later.
