The hotel sits in a quiet area about 2 km from the nearest town, which made it a relaxing place to unwind. My apartment was very spacious, comfortable, and well equipped, with a stunning sea view. The whole hotel feels high-standard, and the staff were welcoming, friendly, and always ready to help. Breakfast had plenty of delicious choices. There can be daytime and evening parties on some weekends, so it may get a little loud, though it didn’t bother me. I can honestly recommend it if you’re looking for a peaceful stay.

The beach was only okay, with lots of rocks and a steep drop into the water. The resort itself is good value, though. It has a neoclassical look, the facilities are in fairly good condition, and the food is tasty and authentic.

The staff made our two-day visit easy from start to finish. We were welcomed by a smiling parking attendant, our bags were quickly taken to our rooms, and checkout was swift and professional. Everyone was attentive and courteous throughout. Our room was sparkling clean, with an inviting view of the water. We spent an afternoon swimming in one of the many pools, where an alert attendant kept watch. Meals were nice, especially the seafood buffet, and breakfast came with a lovely view of the beach. We had a wonderful family holiday at Lan Rung and look forward to coming back.

The rooms were clean and spacious, and the view was nice, but after six nights we wished we'd only booked two. I'd rate it a 3 for young kids and a 2 for adults. Front desk staff were cold and brief, and didn't seem helpful unless pushed. There was no concierge, beach chairs, boogie-boards, or conditioner in the showers, just cheap shampoo. Pool service, and service elsewhere, meant going up to order and carrying everything back yourself. The website felt like a bait-and-switch: only one restaurant was open, with nothing else available. It was pretty dead until a large team-building group arrived for two days. They took over the place, with loudspeaker noise constantly, and there was no room for us at dinner or breakfast. The breakfast buffet was a joke, and gross after the group had demolished it. Go up the road to the Holiday Inn for real 4-5 star service. This place is not 4 stars.
