Hoang Truong Hotel is worth considering if you're going to Vung Tau City. The room was clean, the price reasonable, and it had all the essentials. Cot Co Square and Thuy Van beach are nearby, as is Bun Bo Thu Huyen, a good spot for breakfast.

At least there was an elevator. The room was cramped, with peeling paint on the wall and a yellow, dirty toilet. There was no bedside light or hair dryer in the room. I went to reception to ask for a dryer, but it was gone. The mattress felt hard and uncomfortable, and the bed creaked whenever I lay down, so it was difficult to sleep.

I had a confirmed booking, but when I arrived to check in, the hotel said it had been canceled. Nobody had called or emailed me about that. When I asked, they said they no longer work with booking and quoted a room price higher than the one on booking.
