SeaSala Hotel

It’s within walking distance of the beach, cafes, and local restaurants. The hotel is family-run, with friendly owners who speak great English and helped arrange our outbound bus at local rates. It’s good for families and very quiet on weekdays, though pretty busy at weekends. The area is mostly visited by Vietnamese tourists, which we loved.

The WiFi didn’t work, and the place is old. The people working there spoke almost no English. For a 9€ room, we weren’t expecting much, but we did expect basic cleanliness, a decent shower, a comfortable bed, and working WiFi, and none of that was there. The bed was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept in and was itchy enough that we spent the night looking for bed bugs, though we didn’t find any. The shower was so old that I had to turn it on from above because the handle was rotten. We thought about leaving on the second night, even though we’d already paid, and finding somewhere normal. It was a lesson to spend a few more euros. The room looked nothing like the pictures, and you can do better.

The staff were friendly and the place was fairly clean, but the four-person room was very small and didn’t have a good view. The towels were dirty and smelled awful, and the water pressure was extremely low. Watch the bedsheets: I saw the guests checking out just before us being asked to pay an extra VND 50.000 because they had spilled soft drink on the bed.

The room was tiny and hot, and the service was terrible. The air conditioner stayed hot even when set to 16 degrees, while the WiFi kept dropping to a weak connection or no internet at all. I won’t come back.
