Ho Tram Beach Boutique Resort & Spa

We really liked the long saltwater pool. It stayed cool, and there are two pools in all. The resort staff were lovely and always keen to help, and the head manager was a terrific host whose energy made our stay special. The grounds are beautiful and full of trees, ponds, and lakes. We watched squirrels and chipmunks chase each other along the branches, birds flying around, and little lizards and geckos darting into the leaves. Most rooms are bright, roomy, and clean, with Vietnamese construction details and decent plumbing. There can be the odd visitor from outside, but the beds have mosquito nets. Breakfast is included, though it’s fairly simple and doesn’t change much day to day apart from the soups. There isn’t much within walking distance, and the beach area is mostly a big, empty, undeveloped space.

I’m at a resort now, but honestly I just want to go home. I’ve stayed here several times, and this will be my last. Our group of eight went to dinner, and even though the restaurant was nearly empty with plenty of tables, the staff put us at a table for six. When I asked if they could add a small table for two, the staff member sighed right in my face. I was shocked and felt deeply insulted. It ruined our family dinner. People come here to make happy memories and spend their time and money. We didn’t come to feel insulted, and the service seems to get worse each time I visit. On my last stay, staff also promised to email the photos they took, but they never sent them. They ignored my follow-up emails, and now those precious family memories are lost. I’m extremely disappointed.

The quiet stretch of beach is a real plus, with direct access and plenty of room for kids to run around and enjoy their daily “vitamin sea.” There’s lots of open space, and the greenery makes this a peaceful place for a family break. Ho Tram Boutique Resort feels like a spacious hidden gem. The bathrooms could use a little touch-up, though.

The beach was clean, with loungers and umbrellas, and I loved that the owner left the trees along the shore instead of cutting them down for a wider view. They give welcome shade and make the beach lovely. I was told the boutique hotel is in a traditional Vietnamese style. Even a walk around the grounds feels like a little excursion, past streams, ponds, bridges, and gates.
