InterContinental Grand Ho Tram by IHG

A big part of what I’ll remember from Ixora Ho Tram by Fusion is Mira, the head manager of the dining room. She’s professional, kind, elegant, patient, and attentive, with a warm smile and a real gift for making people feel cared for. Mira leads by example and represents hospitality at its best. In a country like mine, I believe someone with her professionalism, leadership, and dedication would receive major recognition and promotion. Employees like her are rare, and she’s one of the hotel’s greatest assets. Please pass along my appreciation to her personally. She deserves recognition for the wonderful work she does every day. The complex is beautiful, peaceful, and very well maintained. Its details, atmosphere, service, and the kindness of the staff all reflect high standards and made me feel welcome, respected, and genuinely cared for from the start. Breakfast was another highlight, with excellent variety, freshness, quality, and presentation that made every morning more enjoyable. I’ll gladly recommend the hotel to friends, family, and others, and sincerely hope to return. Thank you for the hospitality, outstanding service, and wonderful memories.

I gave two stars because the stay itself was good once we got through check-in. The customer service is why the review is low. My aunt’s husband arranged a trip for 15 family members and friends, a year after my late grandmother passed, to remember her. Our grandparents’ friends arrived first, but the hotel refused to let them check in because my aunt’s husband wasn’t there. He’d had a last-minute business trip, but had emailed the hotel to confirm that my aunt and one of the friends would check in for the group. The rest of us were still on the road, and we kept asking for help so the group of people in their 70s could rest after a long car ride. The hotel wouldn’t budge. When they finally allowed check-in, they made the friends pay upfront, with no option to pay the deposit by card. That soured the whole group’s mood until dinner. My aunt’s husband says he’ll never book with IHG again for his business partners. He shouldn’t have to be present when his guests check in.

The hotel has amazing pools, and the kids and I loved them. We were there in low season and sometimes had the huge pools to ourselves. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and cheerful, and as a vegan I felt really well looked after. They already had my diet noted in their system and gave me the right menu. It was a bit confusing that some sports cost extra, with rackets and balls charged separately.

I stayed four days and three nights. The bed was very squishy, more designed for lying down than sitting. The room lighting felt really dim to me, almost as if it was meant for people coming back from the casino just to sleep.
