It’s low-budget accommodation, but that doesn’t have to mean a s*** hole. Our room was tiny, not the one we’d booked, and the shower didn’t work. You can hear everything from the other rooms, and it gets so hot the fan can’t keep up. I’d pay more and stay somewhere else.

The rooms are really tiny, though you get what you pay for. The bigger issue was being so close to the street, where clubs and bars played music all night. I barely slept. Wi-Fi only worked on the shared balcony and didn’t reach the rooms.

The rooms were dirty, with bugs and roaches crawling around, holes in the walls and door, and unclean sheets. The air conditioning and door lock didn’t work. For what they charge, I’d go elsewhere. Don’t stay here.

The staff were really friendly. At $35 NZ a night, you get what you pay for, so it’s hard to complain.
