Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu by IHG

We were so well looked after, and the team’s kindness really stood out. Thanks to Junior, Aurelie, Noela and Jaqueline for being so welcoming and professional. The rooms were nice, and the beds were comfortable. We’ll definitely be back.

Matilda at reception was a pleasure to see each day. She was friendly, helped me find my way around town, and had good recommendations. The food was very good, and I found the rooms comfortable and the property calm and relaxing. Before I arrived, the staff clearly explained which facilities were closed, which I appreciated. The hotel was still lovely despite the damage from last year’s earthquake and cyclone. I hope to return when the repairs are done :)

We booked and paid for a stay from 23 December to 30 December, and our travel agent has now been told that we’re being asked to relocate. The alternatives offered are subpar. This is peak season, and I can’t see why they’d expect us to want to move. Totally unacceptable.

The setting is a big part of the appeal: tropical gardens, lovely lagoon views, a private beach, and a peaceful feel, while Port Vila’s shops, markets and tours are still within easy reach. I also loved how much there was to do, from kayaking and paddleboarding to cultural activities, plus the golf course and spa. Around the pool there were plenty of loungers and a swim-up bar. The staff were warm wherever we went, whether at reception, the restaurant or the pool bar. They made us feel welcome and were always ready to help. Meals were delicious, with fresh local ingredients and lots to choose from. Breakfast had tropical fruit, pastries and hot dishes, and the cocktails were great by the pool in the ocean breeze. Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu made for a relaxing break. I’d happily stay again, whether visiting alone, with a partner or with family. 10/10, can’t wait to return!
