We stayed in room 15 for two years, including during the 2024 earthquake. The location is central, and Vila Central Hospital is just a couple of blocks away. We found the compound safe during natural emergencies. Because it’s so close to the hospital, the area gets priority if power or water is disrupted, which is convenient. Mr Sydney and Ellon were incredibly helpful. The one downside is that the units are a bit old and need refurbishment.

Our whole family stayed here a couple of years ago, and it worked really well for us. The Tradewinds has a nice pool, table tennis and pleasant villa accommodation. It’s close to Port Villa Centre, and if you enjoy canoeing, you can take one out early in the morning along Erakor Lagoon. It’s a lovely way to start the day.

The manager was very helpful and drove us to the airport when our ride didn’t show up. The place does need some work, though. Given the climate, air conditioning should be included instead of costing AUD 30 a night. They could just roll it into the bill.

The staff were so helpful throughout the evening reception, and there was a great range of food. We were there after attending a traditional island wedding.
