Thomas yasur view lodge

Thomas and his family gave us such a warm welcome, and we loved staying at Thomas' Yasur View Lodge for two nights. The treehouse has an incredible view, though getting up there is quite a climb, and the dinners were hearty. We enjoyed walking to the ash plains and through the village, as well as visiting the volcano. We were also lucky to be invited to witness part of a circumcision ceremony. Thomas took us on a day trip to Sulphur Bay hot springs and drove us to our next accommodation on the NW coast. He was responsive and very accommodating. Highly recommend!

Thomas is attentive and gives helpful advice about local activities, which made it easy to explore the area in a different way. The place is clean, ideally located, and has plenty of authentic charm. The meals were delicious too. A wonderful experience, highly recommend.

I stayed for 8 days and really enjoyed the slower pace and the appreciation for mother earth. Thomas and his extended family are beautiful people. He has a great sense of humour, shares interesting stories about his culture, and enjoys helping visitors see a way of life different from their own. I’d hoped to help him with photos, but 8 days wasn’t enough. He’s busy with village communications and helping others. For a volcano tour, just walk across the road. Thomas offers lots of tours. Call him to arrange a stay, since apps can be awkward and service patchy. THOMAS has a genuine smile and laughs a lot.

I got lucky and booked the tree house on a whim after someone cancelled just before I called. When I was there, it was booked continuously, so I’d suggest reserving well ahead. The view is incredible, and this is right across from the volcano entrance. The facilities are well maintained, and Thomas and his family are kind, considerate, accommodating, and a joy to be around. I’ll stay with them on future trips to Tanna and wholeheartedly recommend them.
