Volcano Island paradise bungalows

The area is beautiful, with an epic view of the volcano. Morris and Susie make you feel at home. I’d suggest staying at least 3 nights if you want a good chance of seeing the volcano in good conditions, and time to experience their lifestyle.

The view of Mount Yasur is incredible. Hearing it rumble at night and waking up to see the volcano was one of the most beautiful things I’ve done. It’s a 30min walk to the entrance. We spent three incredible nights at Morris and Susie's, and they were attentive hosts. Susie's food was excellent. Thanks again for everything.

The house felt cozy and comfortable, clearly made with love. It was sturdy and windproof, the beds were nice, and we loved having running water. You can see Mount Yasur all the time, from the room and dining area, and hear its rumble. Surrounded by jungle, the place felt like stepping back into jurassic world. The volcano is incredible, and I couldn’t stop looking at its power and might. Morris, Susie, their family, and the dogs welcomed us and treated us so well. Morris organized everything, Susie made delicious food every day, and the family shared their culture and let us take part. Mount Yasur was the adventure of my dreams. We’re grateful they shared their home and culture with us. That’s what travel is about. Thank you so much!

The bungalows are cozy, with what you need and a beautiful volcano view right from the doorstep. You can hear the rumbling and see red lava clouds coming out at night. The guided tour entrance and ash field are both within walking distance, as are the surreal natural spots like sulfur bay hot springs and the nearby river. I had a lovely time experiencing Tanna's nature and local life firsthand, and would definitely come again. Morris and Susie were welcoming, kind, and helped with everything. When I left my phone in the driver’s car, Morris even came with me to the ash field in the dark to get it back, probably the coolest part of my stay. Susie's food was tasty, though breakfast wasn’t the most filling. My last morning it was just crackers with peanut butter.
