Alec’s Hotel

The pool was a hit with the kids, and the hotel was quiet enough for us to sleep well. We also found the location handy, near town and a laundry-mat, though the hotel can do laundry for $30tala per load. Lole welcomed our family so warmly and was attentive throughout. Our room had what we needed, and the beds were comfortable. The facilities were good, and Alec Hotel, Lole and the staff, made the stay memorable. I’d recommend it for comfort and privacy at a reasonable price.

The staff were so lovely and made me feel at home. I also appreciated how close the hotel is to Apia town and the hospital. It was a bit expensive, but the amenities felt worth the cost, especially the pool and the air-conditioning in the heat. I’d recommend it for a comfortable stay.

Lynn’s supermarket is close for supplies, and Giordanos across the road serves good food at good prices. Breakfast was great too, and it was handy having a jug and microwave in the room. The price felt fair for the facilities, and the staff were really helpful and friendly. Thank you Ester & Tala. The beds and linen were the best we had in Samoa, a real treat after foam mattresses, hard wood beds and synthetic sheets in places that cost a lot more than Alec’s. We enjoyed our stay.

The bed was clean, at least. The advertised WiFi wasn’t available, and they said the “vouchers” were gone. Cockroaches ran across the floor every five minutes. In the morning there was no hot water, and the shower was broken and covered in mold. I can’t remember staying at a worse hotel. I don’t think I’ll try the offered “breakfast”.
