Litia Sini Beach Fales

I’m gluten- and dairy-free, and on my first trip to Samoa the first place I stayed didn’t cater for me at all. Here, the staff go above and beyond to make sure I can eat much the same as everyone else. They’re happy to accommodate me, and it’s lovely not to feel like an inconvenience. Everyone is amazing and so friendly. I’ll definitely be back, and I can’t recommend this place enough, especially if you have dietary restrictions and feel nervous about travelling. You’re safe here.

The view from our beachfront fale at Litia Sini is something I’ll hold onto until we can return. I almost never write reviews, but Litia Sini made our trip unforgettable. We also stayed at Tanoa Tusitala and Saletoga Sands Resort while in Samoa. Saletoga was comfortable and had nice amenities, but it didn’t feel memorable. Tanoa Tusitala was fine for passing through Apia, though it left no lasting impression. Litia Sini, right on Lalomanu Beach, is the place that really stayed with us. If you want a genuine, low-key South Pacific stay, this is a special spot. Samoa is one of the most beautiful island nations, and this stretch of beach might be its finest. The turquoise water is crystal clear, the beach is great for swimming, and there’s good snorkelling just offshore. Some coral was damaged, probably by the 2009 tsunami, but there are still plenty of vibrant fish. The staff are warm and genuine, and many are part of Lydia and Joseph’s extended family. Their care feels natural and real. That softly spoken, kind, welcoming Samoan spirit comes through in everything. The food was by far the best we had in Samoa, and some of the best I’ve had in my life. We also had traditional massages, which were excellent and absolutely worth doing. Southern Upolu is quieter and more rural, and the nearby villages add to the sense of escape. You won’t find air conditioning or private bathrooms, but the setting, people, and experience more than made up for that. I’d recommend spending some or all of your time in Samoa at Litia Sini.

The beach is right there, and the location is beautiful. We got friendly service from the lovely staff, and there are pets too. Breakfast and dinner are included and delicious. It’s great value compared with other resorts. There weren’t many luxuries in the room, but after staying there we realized we didn’t miss them. It’s a bit of a hike from the airport, though worth it.

We’ve stayed here for the 12th (?) time recently. The food is amazing. A young relative of ours has celiac disease and ate so well. I can’t thank everyone enough for the care they took with her meals and for the excellent experience all around.
