The beach felt almost private, with incredibly beautiful views, and the lobster dinner was unbeatable. Our host also made generous, delicious breakfasts. The fales are cosy and practical, with electricity and mosquito nets, and the shared bathroom was clean. We really enjoyed our two nights and would pick this place a hundred times over a generic resort. This feels like the real Samoa.

Breakfast was perfect, with different kinds of eggs, toast, papaya porridge, coconut cream, and coconut porridge. Dinner brought a choice of proteins like duck, chicken, or fish, with salad, rice, and sauce. We met lots of nice people and played games together. Lini and the whole family are incredibly lovely and clearly care about what they do. The fales and toilets were clean, the service was very good, and the beach is lovely. Best place in Samoa. 10/10 if you’re here.

The fale was spacious and right beside a wonderful, quiet beach. Lini and his family were an absolute blessing. The traditional breakfasts and dinners were incredibly tasty, and sharing one big table made it easy to meet other lovely travellers, including local travellers, and spend beautiful evenings together. We’d love to come back and recommend staying here 1000%. Faafetai lava!

The food was outstanding, with generous portions, and both dinner and breakfast were amazing on each of our two nights. We had lovely conversations with Lasi over dinner and got to hear about her life and culture. She and her family were so kind and made us feel at home and well looked after. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with a cup of cocoa Samoa because of the rain, then shown to a clean fale with beautiful ocean views. Having a beer while watching the sunset turn the sky pink from the bedroom was amazing. The bathrooms were spotless too. We’d happily return and tell everyone to book at Jaymys. It was a true Samoan experience, exactly what we’d hoped for.

I stayed for two nights in October and loved how authentic and simple it felt. The hosts were lovely and the food was good. I had breakfast both mornings, and the coconut jam is well worth trying if you get the chance. I had dinner one night, a fabulous stir-fry type dish with fresh-caught fish in a curry-type sauce. I couldn’t fault the food, and Lini’s daughter did a great job. She can cook!
