Addo Wildlife

Richard was a fantastic guide on our safari booked through Addo Wildlife in the Addo elephant national Park. He knew a lot not just about the familiar animals, but also the ones you might only notice if you looked twice. His enthusiasm for showing and explaining everything made for a great day. We saw so many animals and learned a lot. We wish we could take the tour more often. It was the best safari tour we’ve ever had.

We had dinner on Heritage Day 2025, and every person in my family had their expectations exceeded. The meal was fantastic, and the new owner stopped by our table at least five times. When we arrived, SIYA greeted us courteously and found a table for all five of us. She gave us time to look over the menu, then came back promptly, though we did have to ask for another five minutes. We’d read nearly all the earlier reviews, so we were especially pleased by the exceptional service at your beautiful restaurant. Congratulations to you and your team, Sir. We’ll be back. The waiters were very kind, but I wouldn’t recommend this lodge despite the hospitality staff’s warmth. The animal sanctuary was sad to see, with small cages and artificial features like fake grass and plastic wood logs. The standalone cottages are nice, but the food disappointed us, and dealing with management wasn’t a good experience. One week before arrival, we were told that a booking we’d made four months earlier had to be cancelled because of overbooking. When we arrived, the issue had somehow disappeared, but nobody apologized for the inconvenience. We also had to switch cottages because one had a very chemical smell. It’s an okay lodge, but it doesn’t live up to the four-star rating it claims.

This was our third stay, and it’s still a great hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean, and just right. The staff are friendly and accommodating. It never disappoints.
