The restaurant was spacious, well organized, and served good food, with very nice staff. Our room was clean, comfortable, and large enough for four. We had two safari drives, each lasting two hours, with two different guides, and both did a good job. It was our first safari with our kids, aged 4 and 8, and we all had a great time. The family pool was the downside: it seemed smaller than the adults-only one, and with more than three or four families it would get too crowded and noisy. I was glad we only stayed one night. When it was time to leave, though, it felt like they just wanted to get rid of us because the next guests were arriving.

Our guide Andreas made the safari unforgettable. He was extremely knowledgeable and clearly passionate, and explained the wildlife in a lively, informative way. His witty, charming manner kept it entertaining, too. The game reserve was peaceful and felt authentic, a lovely way to enjoy South Africa’s nature and wildlife. We stayed one night at Garden Route Game Lodge during a road trip, and the stylish lodge and beautifully furnished accommodation made it easy to unwind after a full day. Everything was immaculately maintained. The staff were friendly, professional, and welcoming throughout, with real care in the service. This was a highlight of our journey, and we’d happily return. Many thanks to the whole team.

We ended our brief safari with a delicious lunch at the lovely restaurant. The staff were friendly, and the whole place looked beautifully kept and well managed. On our two-hour Game Drive at Garden Route Game Lodge, we saw elephants, zebras, lions, rhinos, hippos, oryx, springbok, buffalo, blue cranes, secretary bird, impalas, and wildebeest. The cheetah was the only one that eluded our guide, who I think was called Ruan. He was enthusiastic, fun, and knew a lot. It made for a memorable morning during our Garden Route road trip, and we were both really impressed.

The views are stunning, and we saw elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, cheetahs, hippos, rhinos, and plenty more. Some people call it “just a farm,” but maybe they only did one game drive. It isn’t deep African jungle, sure, but you need two or three nights and at least four drives to really enjoy it and see everything. The guide was amazing, the food was good, the rooms comfortable, and service great. The spa and massage are affordable, too. Bring some cash for tips at the end.

We only booked one night, but could easily have stayed for two. The accommodation, restaurant, and relaxation facilities were all lovely. They’ve got things arranged so you can go on a safari in the evening and again in the morning. Seeing the elephants, giraffes, and lions was the best part, and hearing how they were rescued and now live in this private park was fascinating. Such a fun, fabulous place for a small safari.
