We had a wonderful stay, and the views were awesome. The best part was watching the glorious sunset each evening from our spacious room, which was clean and nicely furnished. It had the things we needed, including a kettle, hair dryer, TV, and air-conditioning. Cape View Clifton is a boutique guest house with spectacular ocean views. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was the only meal available: usually muesli and fruit, followed by a freshly cooked breakfast with bacon, eggs, toast, and a slightly different menu each morning. We were disappointed there was no restaurant on site, so we'd have to go out for lunch and dinner. It was definitely on the expensive side. Parking right outside is very limited, though you can park along the road opposite, which was okay but not ideal. There are lots of stairs, and the lift doesn't stop on every floor. That worked for us, but may not suit everyone.

Being high above the crowds in the hot tub, taking in the beaches, seascape, and mountains with ice-cold wine in hand, felt like a vacation fantasy. Cape View had been on my wish list for ages, and this was the perfect time to visit. I absolutely loved my stay at this spectacular property. The rooms were spotless and beautifully appointed, the staff were friendly, and Charmaine made a five-star breakfast. Highly recommended!

The staff were lovely, and even tucked hot water bottles into the bed as part of the turn-down service. My favourite thing was being able to have breakfast in my dressing gown. It was the best hotel we've ever stayed in, and a perfect spot for our first honeymoon room. We loved every minute and would love to return once we've saved up enough money again. x

The ocean views from the room and patio are wonderful, and the staff are amazing. It's an incredible hotel with a great view. Book and go now, though, because it's due to close in a few months after the property is sold to a private owner. Tip the staff well and enjoy the stay.

This was the worst stay of our two-week trip in South Africa, and the customer service was the worst we've encountered. We had a junior suite at $1,000 per night in US currency, but the WiFi barely worked: we had it for about 30 minutes across our three-night stay. When we reported the problem multiple times, the front desk just told us to come back and tell them about it. People are allowed to smoke in the public areas, and we could smell the woman in the room next to us smoking cigarettes. The worst part was finding that all the US currency cash we'd left in my wallet had been taken while the room was being turned over, either one night or one morning. It was literally $350, every dollar gone. After that first night of terrible WiFi and service, we politely asked to cancel the remaining two nights, but they refused. This place felt classless, and I hardly ever leave bad reviews, but I had to warn others about paying so much for such a terrible experience. I also have a copy of my invoice and stay details if anyone wants to see them.
