The kids loved the pool, which is sheltered from the wind, and we also enjoyed using it often. The tennis court was a bonus, though it needs a new net. Being right on the beach makes this a great spot for families with small children.

3 Driftwood in Ballito is a superb apartment right by the beach. It sleeps six, and I highly recommend it.

We stayed with the family in December 2018, and the ground-floor apartment felt like a home away from home. A walkway leads to the beach, and the kitchen has all the appliances that make life easier: a washing machine, dishwasher, tumble dryer, stove, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle.

The apartment was spotless and had all the comforts we needed, with modern bathrooms and space for six. It’s in a beautiful spot by the beach, with boardwalk access and shops and restaurants nearby.

I stayed at Driftwood for a few days over the December holiday last year. The beach view was beautiful, but the stairs need attention. On Sunday afternoon, I was heading out for a beach walk when I slipped and fell on the stairs. It had been raining and they were extremely wet. Could something be done to stop them getting so wet?
