Geo Trail Lodge and Spa

We needed some quiet time after working through the December holidays, and my husband and I really enjoyed staying in the chalets and relaxing by the swimming pool. The staff were kind and helpful. Tema took care of what we needed, and we promised her we'd come back. We will. We also really enjoyed our massage at Palar. The ladies there were kind and professional. Thank you, Geo Trail Team ❤️🌼

The area is nice and quiet, but our weekend for quality time and relaxation had quite a few disappointments. The massage included in our package was great, though the food wasn't. The butter chicken had no salt and tasted like chicken breasts with turmeric and cream. Breakfast was also an issue: only white bread and white sugar, no trays so they used a large floor tile, and no condiment caddy, meaning the sauces came one by one. The scrambled eggs were watery and my partner left them untouched, while the fries were always over-spiced and too salty. We also didn't get dessert either night. The chalets look very nice outside, but the inside could use an upgrade, especially the shower area. The water was never hot, just warm on and off. The air freshener spray wasn't impressive, the toilet bin had a Shoprite plastic bag, there was no hand towel, and the 1 ply toilet paper was a big no. There weren't any bath amenities either, they should at least have shower gel. The dog also made walking around uncomfortable, since not everyone is a dog person and some of us are actually afraid of dogs.

A sparkling blue heart-shaped pool and those stunning views made the holiday even better, along with beautiful food and amazing cocktails. We had a beautiful time at Geo Trail lodge and spa. Mark and his awesome team looked after us from arrival to the end and went above and beyond to make every moment enjoyable. I can't wait to return to this beautiful slice of paradise in Barberton. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and prepared just right. Thumbs up to the chef! We also had a massage in the comfort of our own room. We stayed four nights and had a wonderful experience. Cindy welcomed us and was kind, helpful, and quick to respond whenever we needed anything. It's a great location, surrounded by nature and a good place for a break from the city's rush. The one downside is the lodge's location near a busy intersection, so passing cars can make some noise. With the lovely scenery and peaceful surroundings, though, we didn't mind the little bit of noise much.
