Pepperclub Hotel

The street noise made it hard to sleep. The club across the road kept pounding away until the early hours, even on a Sunday, and we could still hear it from the 11th floor. Maintenance work in the room next door also began at 7:55 am and woke me up. The rooms were very nice, with a lovely Table Mountain view, and the mini fridges were handy. Breakfast was very nice, 10/10. The sauna was very nice too, and there’s a spa and a very nice gym, though we didn’t use either. The pool gets no sun after about 3pm because it’s on an east-facing deck. I wish the pool and sauna stayed open past 9pm, perhaps until 10. Parking costs 150 Rand per calendar day.

We felt spoiled throughout our wonderful stay at the Pepperclub Hotel. The service made it special. Kholiswa from Front Office was kind and professional, Leanne from the spa gave me a relaxing, memorable treatment, and Christian, our waiter, looked after us so well. Thanks to the whole team. We’ll definitely be back!

Ethan at the front desk is what made this stay feel truly five-star. He’s professional, approachable and clearly cares about looking after guests. The hotel is good, and while the general service is pleasant, efficient and professional, Ethan goes well beyond that. I’ve stayed at the Bulgari Hotel several times, and his service is at that same level. I left for a couple of nights to try the Pullman, but its room didn’t have a balcony. For me, the balcony and Table Mountain view make the stay special, so I went back to Pepper Club. Before returning, I called ahead to check Ethan would be assisting me again. His professionalism and attention to detail stand out. Waking up to the Table Mountain view from those rooms is exceptional, and the location is great for exploring Cape Town. A few details could be better: the balcony needs chairs and a small table; street-facing rooms get late-night pub noise, so I used noise-cancelling music and think the hotel should provide earplugs. Breakfast is fine, though the croissants aren’t great and the bread selection could include something like sourdough. The rooms also lack small touches I’d expect in a five-star hotel, such as a disposable shoe-polish sponge or sewing kit.

We had such a positive family stay at Pepperclub in Long street. The team was friendly and helpful, and they were especially accommodating with our eight-month-old baby. We’d highly recommend it and will definitely return!
