Doorways

The setting around this place is superb, and the hosts were both so friendly and helpful. I was happily surprised by how enchanting it is, and how well equipped it was. There wasn't a thing missing. Definitely recommend!

Daphne took time to chat with us and point out places to stop along our route, including some great breakfast spots. The guest house was spotless, tidy, and beautifully decorated, and it is clearly very well managed. I'd give it eight stars if I could, and I'll definitely stay again.

The garden makes the whole place feel peaceful and gorgeous, with birds around and lovely scents in the air. Daphne and her husband, who's the gardener, have created a really restful space. We also loved the complimentary homemade rusks with excellent coffee. Daphne shared some of Barrydale's nicest village spots with us, and discovering the town was a real treat. We'll be back.

There's plenty of safe parking, and town is an easy walk away. The beds are cozy, and the heating kept things comfortable in the cold winter. Doorways is easily among the top three places I've ever stayed as a frequent traveller, with clean rooms, stylish decor, lovely views, and lekker coffee. Highly recommended, I'd give it six stars if I could!
