The owner got in touch after my first review. I was very upset then and wasn't kind, but she stayed gentle and apologised for the employees' misconduct. She seems like a kind, soft-spoken lady. We all make mistakes, and I picked this place because it looked beautiful and homely, somewhere my colleagues could rest peacefully. Please consider staying here. I'd love to hear how it goes for you. Take pictures and enjoy your stay, I'm sure it will be worth it. Earlier that morning, though, I wrote: "Don't waste your time, poor service, poor communication. Not worth time or money."

The guesthouse was clean and well cared for, and the staff made us feel welcome with how friendly they were. We really enjoyed staying here in Beaufort West. It was comfortable and good value, so it's a lovely place to stop over. Highly recommend.

The rooms were clean and everything felt just right. What stayed with me most was the receptionist's humanity and the wonderful welcome she gave me. When I head down to Cape Town next year, I'll definitely stop here again.

The start of my stay was friendly enough, but checkout day felt very different. Staff seemed to treat me as if I hadn't paid and pushed me to leave quickly, even though I'd already told them my vehicle had broken down. While I waited for repairs, I felt watched and unfairly suspected.

A flat tyre left me stranded in the Karoo and set my trip back. I called Windpomp Gastehuis, and they helped me at very short notice. The service was great and the rooms comfortable. I'll go back.
