Breakfast was good, and the staff were amazing about helping with our dietary needs. The four-bed Room #20 was clean and nice, with a little kitchenette and a bathroom with a shower. The bed and quality bedding made for a good night's sleep. I'd stay here again. One small thing, Room #20 is beside the road, so a big truck going past can be distracting, though it wasn't too alarming.

The pool needs more attention. It looked dirty, with lots of insects in the water, so my children decided not to swim because they didn't want to get sick. The soap in the rooms also seemed low quality, unscented and barely lathered in water. Those two things kept me from giving five stars. The place itself is neat and clean, with good interiors and a pleasant atmosphere. There are more than 40 units, from singles to family rooms, and the rooms are reasonably priced. Donkin House is right on the main road as you enter town, with shops, a petrol garage, a quick shop, restaurants and the museum all easy to reach. The management and staff were friendly and well-mannered, and the reception is open 24 hours. Amenda was especially helpful from booking through check-in, explaining everything clearly and helping us settle in smoothly.

I stayed here with my family and had a great time. The bed was comfortable, and although the food portion was a little small, it filled me up. The service was lovely and friendly, a full 5/5. I'd happily come back anytime.

The food is a real highlight at Donkin House, along with the genuine hospitality and reliable comfort. It's a strong choice for work or leisure trips, and I'd give it five stars. I plan to return when I'm next travelling through the area.

We had dinner there and really liked the food. The staff were very friendly, and we'd definitely come back. Highly recommend.
