Rise and Shine Lodge

I've never had a worse stay at a lodge, resort, or B&B. Our rooms weren't ready at check-in, and the staff had terrible attitudes about it. The layout was badly thought out, with furniture placed awkwardly. Water from the shower head sprayed straight at the unsealed door, turning the tiny bathroom into a swimming pool. The taps were so close to the basins that they were unusable, the fridges smelled awful, and the parking layout was terrible too. They tried to squeeze too much into a small space instead of using it well. The price was far too high for the service we got. I'd tell everyone to stay away. Worst experience ever.

David made an excellent breakfast and was friendly, as was Letlabile. David also did his best to control the parties, even calling the police, but guests bringing their own alcohol kept partying until early morning and disturbing most of the others. Housekeeping wasn't done until after 2 o'clock, and the towels were usually old, torn, and stained. My room's shower drain was blocked. I reported it on Wednesday morning 25 May, again on Friday 27th, and again directly to the owner (IT) on Sunday 29th. Nothing had been done by the time we left on Tuesday 31 May. The owner needs to make a serious effort to fix these problems before they get out of hand.

The place was neat and really nice, with friendly staff and a high level of professionalism. I got lucky during check-in when they showed me different rooms. In one, the bedding cushions and polar fleece blanket matched my tie. That personal touch made my night! 😘😂🙈💪

The room looked lovely, and there were plenty of channels on the DSTV menu. The internet was good too. But the aircon wasn't working right, and the bar fridge had a bad smell, so I came away with mixed feelings.
