Swaynekloof Farm

Great value for a farm stay near Botrivier. There are nature reserve walks and plenty of farm animals for the kids, with wine estates nearby and Kleinmond, Hermanus and Grabouw all close too.

The owners were so friendly and patient with our awkward arrival and departure times, indecision over dates and ongoing communication issues. Swaynekloof Farm made a peaceful base for us, away from the noisy N2 nearer Bot River. We spent plenty of time in the renosterveld reserve, where you can see the ocean from the top of the hill and spot lots of mammals and birds. We saw Black Harrier, Fynbos Buttonquail, Denham’s Bustard, Secretarybird, Cape Clapper Lark, and even a Honey Badger while driving through at night. In the evenings, watching the Blue Cranes fly in to roost by the river was a treat. There was birdsong and plenty of mindful activity. With the accommodation and things to do nearby, it works well for families and friends, whether staying one night or longer. Thanks for a lovely visit.

I had a great time here with friends. It’s clean and peaceful, with chickens and ducks around. There’s a little walk up the farm, and there’s a Hyena too. In the early morning you can hear a glorious Lion grunt or roar. The host is really kind and pleasant ☺️

Loved every minute here. Great hosts, and a fantastic spot well away from the noise and crowds.
