Such an old-fashioned hotel, it brought back lots of childhood memories from the 70s.

The rooms were the letdown. They get hot, there's no air conditioning, and there are no little fridges for keeping drinks or food cold. That makes it impractical to stay more than a night or so, especially since the price didn't match the accommodation. It's not the worst place to stay on average, but there are definitely better options at better rates. The staff were generally friendly and helpful, though. I enjoyed them, and they seemed to be doing what they could with what they had.
The on-site vehicle cleaning service, available during business hours, was a thoughtful extra for the next leg of the journey. I stayed in December at The Victoria Hotel in Bredasdorp, and it was truly exceptional. It's a 3-star gem that suits different kinds of business and offers a range of amenities. There are 29 thoughtfully designed guest rooms, a well-appointed bar with an outside view, and a breakfast room that can turn into a conference space. The African lounge and fireplace make for a cozy place to relax. Its location works well for nearby National Parks and Cape Agulhas. The traditional bar is for guests over 18 and has a retail liquor outlet. There's also a dedicated billiard room, and the bar and lounge areas can host different gatherings, including business meetings. Attentive staff and all these amenities made for a remarkable stay. Whether travelling for business or leisure, I'd highly recommend this comfortable, enjoyable stay in the heart of this charming town. I give it a 5star rating.
Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. The old building was a pleasant surprise: the rooms have been renovated with new bathrooms, and everything was clean and comfortable. There was a heater for the cold, plus white bedding and a TV with a few channels. The wooden floors were noisy, the cups in the rooms were very small, and breakfast had only instant ricoffee, no real coffee. Still, I would recommend the hotel.
The rooms were clean and I had a wonderful time. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the place was OK. The noise level was a downside, as was the green carpet leading to the rooms, which needs cleaning or replacing. WiFi wasn't available in the rooms.
