The bathroom was a problem throughout the night: its door wouldn't close, the shower door wouldn't shut properly, and the blocked drain nearly flooded the room. There was no spare toilet roll, and we had to find the cleaner to ask for one because the room phones couldn't reach reception. We were shown through the kitchen and laundry on arrival, then told to choose a room, but the gentleman never showed us the one we'd booked. The room we took had a double bed instead of the booked queen. The bedside lamps had no bulbs, the TV remote didn't work, and once switched on at the set itself, the sound was terrible. There was no coffee or cups in the room, and the kettle was in a common area. The bedding looked stained or dirty. The pillows were poor, one pillowcase held two very old, thin, worn-out pillows. We were a couple but had only one towel. My husband often stays in guesthouses and said this was the worst one he's ever stayed in.

I spent six weeks here and it was easy to feel at home. The ladies running the guesthouse are friendly and always ready to help, and the food is amazing. I'd recommend staying here if you need accommodation in Bronkhorstspruit.

The room was a shock. The carpets were dirty, the shower ceiling and floor were black with grime, and the ceiling was covered in spiderwebs and insect eggs. This was the most expensive room, with its own bathroom, and cost R912.00. I asked for a refund and was given the owner's number. The woman I reached said she wasn't the owner and would get back to me, and she was very rude. Later, after I found clean alternative accommodation in town for a fraction of the price, the owner called. I explained the problems and he started swearing at me. I don't know if I'll get a refund. Please go look before paying. On arrival, the man who received us seemed unprofessional and unsure what was happening. He looked for paperwork and played games on his tablet while serving us. We got a room key but no gate remote. He said they only had one, and the intercom didn't work either. Since we were attending a function and didn't know when we'd return, I was worried about how we'd get in or contact someone late at night. This place is nothing like the pictures.

A really cozy place to relax. The staff were wonderful and made sure things got done, even though I never saw them. They went out of their way to make me comfortable, bringing a bar fridge after they found food in my room that needed refrigeration.
