The staff were the standout for us. Darryl at reception was helpful from check-in right through to check-out, and the café staff were excellent too. The food was tasty, nicely presented and very reasonably priced. Housekeeping was also very good: our room was clean and refreshed to a high standard each day. We had a pleasant view of the canals, though the location felt a little odd, halfway between the city centre and the V&A waterfront. The lighting could be brighter, and some patio furniture would be welcome. We’re coming back in a few weeks.

We were blown away by the customer service. Sihle Griffiths went out of the way to give us excellent service, and their management skills really show in how well the staff treat customers too. A breath of fresh air in cape town. Cape Town restaurants need you. This was by far the best service we received in Cape town. Thank you, keep it up!

Everything I needed was there, and the bathroom didn’t overflow. An iron and ironing board, plus a shower cap, may sound like little extras, but together they made things stress-free. It was a good experience and I’d definitely recommend it. The food was decent too. The croissant gets a 7/10 from me, not great but not bad.

We had a great time at the Canal Cape Restaurant & Bar and would gladly return. Thandi took wonderful care of us, looked after our child passenget so well, and made sure our needs were met. We even got mini drinks on the house.

The hotel has a great view, and the staff were professional throughout. Themba and George in the restaurant gave excellent service, as did Akhona at reception. She’s always smiling and clearly knows her job, just the right person for the role. The breakfast staff and the rest of the team also looked after us really well. Well done, everyone.
