A calm, beautiful place with clean, spacious rooms and a tasty breakfast. The Wi-Fi was great, and there’s a swimming pool, a boat, and deckchairs to enjoy. The only thing I’d change is the beds, the mattresses are soft. Otherwise, no complaints.

My daughter-in-law booked online for the 20th, but the platform showed the 21st, clashing with our confirmed plans in Paarl from November 21-24. The hosts said they were switching booking platforms and apologized, but the disorganization caused real problems. I overheard one of them call a guest to ask whether they were coming and whether their room could be released. We thought everything had been sorted. My daughter-in-law was sick and stayed behind to sleep while we went shopping. When we returned, we were confronted outside and told our room had suddenly been double-booked and given to a couple with a baby. The man basically told us not to bother unpacking our purchases. My husband and I had nowhere to stay, which was unacceptable. This place is fundamentally unsuitable for families with young children. The deck overlooking the marina has no railings, and the main en-suite bathroom opens directly onto it, both serious hazards for toddlers and babies. When we asked for a refund, one host agreed and the other flatly refused. My husband overheard their loud argument. The help offered to find somewhere else for my son and his family was minimal, so I had to arrange it myself. The hosts were rude, communicated poorly, and acted unprofessionally. After 21 years working in hospitality, I find this indefensible. The way negative feedback is dismissed in past reviews only adds to my concerns. The setting is beautiful, but how we were treated was inexcusable and left a lasting bad impression.

A lovely spot for a weekend break. We had a great stay, and getting to take the boat was an added bonus. I’d definitely recommend it.

The location and views are a lovely surprise, and there are little private spots where you can sit with coffee or drinks. Our room was clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was a full spread with coffee and juice, served in a bright, airy dining room, and the service felt personal.
