Atlantic Bay Lodge

The outdoor space was a real highlight for our group. We made good use of the pool and hot tub, and it was a peaceful place to unwind or braai. The host was welcoming, responsive and clearly wanted us to have a great stay. On-site staff were very helpful when we needed them and gave us our privacy. Atlantic Bay Lodges in Sunset Beach is spacious, luxurious and well designed for a large group. The immaculate, stylish home has seven beautiful bedrooms and sleeps 14 comfortably, with room for everyone to relax without feeling crowded. Highly recommended for families, groups of friends or anyone looking for a top-tier stay in a beautiful location.

There’s no parking. The room is just a bed, nothing more. You wait 15 minutes for warm water, then spend 30 minutes trying to get wet with the poor water pressure. You might as well use the cold-water jacuzzi.

Being so close to the beach was a real plus. The kettle and bar fridge were welcome too, but I was surprised there was no microwave. I’d stayed somewhere for a third of the price with kitchen facilities, so I hadn’t expected to be unable to heat food here. I also spent ages checking cupboards for a hairdryer, then found it in the bathroom after I no longer needed it. Try the less obvious spots. The biggest issue was the amount charged: I accepted a special price on the booking platform, but the deduction was higher, with substantial cleaning fees added separately. The quoted rate was also before VAT, while the others included it, so the final amount caught me off guard.

I had a really enjoyable stay. The room was comfortable, and the accommodation was clean.
