Bo-kaap Elegance Historic Luxury Mountain Views

The room and bathroom are decent, and the location in Bo-Kaap is good. But during this five-day stay, the room hasn't been serviced once since I checked in four days ago. I left it empty each afternoon expecting basic service, and even after asking the owner for fresh towels and room cleaning, I came back on my last afternoon to find it still untouched. I got the towels today, at least. I stayed here once before and don't think the room was serviced daily then either, but that was a shorter visit and it didn't bother me. I'm trying to be understanding, but this is unacceptable. The owner says I need to leave by 10 am tomorrow so pest control can come before the next guests. I hope they're prepared to make their own bed and empty their own water basket.

The rooms are small, but there's a kitchen with all the utensils, roadside parking, and fruit, tea, coffee, yoghurts, and little snacks. It's central and well placed near Somerset rd, De Waterkant, and the Cape Quarter. The colourful, charming Bo-Kaap neighbourhood has quaint little streets, cobbled roads, and colourful houses. Mosques sound the call to prayer morning, noon, and evening, and the noon gun gives you a midday shudder.

Lovely hosts and a perfect spot right in the heart of Bo-Kaap.

A very unpleasant stay. Save your money. Manager Shaun is rude and arrogant, and the kitchen was full of cockroaches. There was no washing machine in the room, and the A.C. was there in name only. A complete waste of money.
