Camps Bay Nest

The location is fantastic, and Camps Bay Village has two beautiful swimming pools. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, a nice place to relax after a day out. The hotel is excellent value for money. As a solo traveler, I felt safe and well supported. The hotel is gated and has guards, and the staff were attentive, caring, kind, and always ready to help. They also shared lots of useful recommendations. Parking is available at an affordable price, and I'd happily recommend staying here.

We were relieved to feel comfortable as soon as we moved to our next place in Cape Town. That really brought home how difficult our first week had been. We love the city, but this was a disappointing start to our holiday, and the problems at Camps Bay Village felt like more than a few small maintenance slips. After reading similar 1-star reviews following our stay, I can see why guests have raised concerns about management, upkeep and service. I’d urge anyone thinking of booking to read those reviews carefully. We spent seven nights in the Stone Cottage. The location is convenient, but the stay fell well below what we expected for the price. These were the biggest problems, though they weren’t the only ones. Noise kept waking us. We heard plumbing from neighboring rooms, clicking appliances, traffic through poor sound insulation, and daytime noise from a nearby school. The pool area wasn’t peaceful either. Even with earplugs, we were woken several times at night. The bed was too small for two adults, so our arms and legs kept hanging over the sides and we bumped into each other. Restful sleep was almost impossible. The room felt much smaller than the photos suggested, with barely enough room for two people to move around or store luggage. Showering flooded the bathroom every day, with water spreading beyond it. There was almost no bathroom privacy because the badly fitted sliding door had large gaps and let sound through. A toilet inside our fenced cottage area was also regularly used by staff, which felt intrusive in what was meant to be private accommodation. When we asked for more shower gel and reported the drainage, our requests were forgotten until we followed up repeatedly. They were eventually addressed, but late in our stay. Offering us another room on the final night, when we were leaving the next morning, wasn’t a useful solution.

Really liked the place. The staff were all great, and Nathan especially brought such a good vibe. I was relaxing by the pool when he showed up with a bottle of water without me even asking. What a legend 🤩

We loved our room, it was comfortable, and the location in Camps Bay made it easy to get around. The coffee at reception was great, too, with lovely guys making it. The front desk and the rest of the staff were so friendly, helpful and easy to talk to. Such a lovely central spot.
