The breakfast was a standout, with fresh bakes, delicious coffee, and options tailored to what we wanted. Richard also gave us helpful ideas for restaurants and things to do around Somerset West. Cape Vermeer ended up being the highlight of all our stays on our South Africa trip. Richard is such a thoughtful, friendly host, and the rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. The beds were simply amazing.

The only thing I regret is not booking more nights. Richard, the Dutch host, and his wonderful team made the stay so good. Breakfast came in a picnic basket packed with tasty treats, and the place had the feel of a boutique hotel, with stylish, minimal interiors. The bed was the best we slept in on our South Africa travels, and actually big enough that our feet didn't stick out, unlike many beds there. There was great attention to detail throughout.

That evening lounge is a lovely spot for a glass of wine or beer, with gorgeous views below. Cape Vermeer turned a planned one-night stay into three separate bookings during our holiday. The location and accommodation were just right, and Richard was the perfect host. We loved staying here.

Richard made us feel so welcome at this lovely find in Somerset West. If you're looking for a place to stay around Helderberg, this could be your happy place. Highly recommend!

The night, the view, the interior, and the owner were all wonderful. We had a perfect stay and will come back ; )
