Stoney pine cottage suited our little family really well. The lodge feels elegant yet homely, and we loved the privacy of our cottage while knowing management was just a call away. Michelle was friendly, and the place is well lit and secure. The kids got a little bored, so a small wooden jungle gym might be a nice addition, though the friendly ducks and chicken kept them busy even without one. It didn’t feel like we were still in The city. Awesome stay!

We spent five nights at Chelaya with friends and family, and got married in the stunning gardens. We wanted somewhere lush, peaceful, and a little bit magical to share our vows, and that’s exactly what we found. The owners were super helpful, the staff warm and friendly, and the cottages cozy and comfortable. Chelaya is a real hidden paradise, an absolute gem. We can’t recommend it highly enough!

The houses are fully furnished, so all you need to bring is food and maybe an extra blanket. There’s a lovely lawn and pond, and a horse field right next door. It’s a great place to stay in the helderberg, whether for a long weekend or an ordinary summer weekend. There’s also a pool and a deck with lounge chairs looking out over a beautiful view. I’ve stayed here before.

It was wonderfully peaceful, with beautiful scenery and a real step back in time. We spent the weekend with family and friends and celebrated a wedding there. The staff were friendly and helpful, and everyone was very accommodating. It felt like a home away from home.
