The garden is lovely, established and well maintained, and the house has so many beautiful things in it, from the china and porcelain collections to family photos and books. It’s a gorgeous place for a family, though I’d worry about little ones getting sticky fingers on everything. Upstairs, both huge double bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, walk-in closets, lovely linens and toiletries. The furnishings and fabrics throughout are superb. The main house feels like a fantastic family home, with a great kitchen, beautiful dining and living areas, and a very comfortable TV room. The Granny Flat is beautifully finished and furnished, with the utility room connecting to it and the garage. The new Pavillion is decorated beautifully too. Its small kitchen is well equipped, and the living and dining room is lovely, with a great view over the pool and ocean. There’s a small single garage and courtyard parking, but our huge truck made the space feel pretty tight. We also had our own security guard from 7 pm to 7 am. WOW, just WOW!

The staff were great, and the beds may be the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. The house is spacious, brilliantly located and extremely well equipped. Absolutely fantastic, I’d highly recommend Claybrook.

We spent a blissful week here and it really felt like home. The house is so well located in CT, with the beach, restaurants and bars all walkable, or you can just sit on the balcony and take in the view. We even spotted whales on our last night. I almost kept quiet about this place so I could have it to myself next time! From the first conversation with Esta, I was sold, even though we stay in lots of beautiful holiday homes. Arrangements were seamless, and the staff at the house were honest and dependable. Only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. Stop thinking and book!

Camps Bay is right there when you want the action, but the place sits just far enough up the hill for great views and quiet evenings. A great spot for the season.
