Excellent Guest House

Dear Management, We'd like to raise a serious concern about smoking at your guesthouse. We chose it because it is known as a beautiful, tranquil and peaceful place, but the current smoking practices have had a significant impact on our stay. We're non-smokers and allergic to cigarette smoke. Guests often smoke right outside their rooms and near doorways, and the smoke keeps drifting into ours. We've had to move away from the area, even late at night while trying to sleep. South African smoking legislation does not permit smoking in public places or near entrances, doors, windows or people. A guesthouse is considered a public place, so these rules should be strictly applied and enforced. We respectfully but firmly ask you to review and enforce the smoking policy. Smoking should not take place near doors, windows or rooms. Any designated smoking areas should be well away from guests, and non-smoking guests should be protected from second-hand smoke. We appreciate the beauty and calm atmosphere of your guesthouse and would like to enjoy our stay without cigarette smoke or repeatedly having to relocate because of discomfort. We trust you'll treat this concern with the seriousness it deserves. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Kind regards, Karin Toerien

The name says it all, excellent! The place is beautifully decorated, with peaceful surroundings, and it's very neat and clean. We always come back!

I had a really good stay. Could you please reconsider the smoking policy?

Behind the walls, it’s such a lovely place. The team made my daughter’s day feel special, and they were wonderful from the moment we checked in until we left. The name Excellent really fits.
