I loved my stay at Finchley and can’t wait to return. My room had a massive, very comfortable bed, but the huge bathroom was the best part, especially the underfloor heating. The staff were fantastic, and the rooms were quaint.

I paid over R8000 for three nights and travelled all the way from Pretoria with my pregnant wife. At check-in, someone simply said over the intercom, “we can’t help you on the same day,” and hung up. Worst place in the whole of Cape Town. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS!

My booking for 24 to 26th December later this year was just cancelled by an unreliable host. It seems they want to benefit from higher peak season prices. I now see the average prices in the area are twice what I had booked for. I raised this with Booking.com, and they said it was a concern for them too, because some properties choose to mistreat their guests.

We had a fantastic stay at Finchley guest house, and the price was very reasonable. The location is a short downhill walk to Camps Bay, with space for 4-5 cars on the driveway or verge outside. Our room was spacious and clean, with air conditioning, a fridge and a large en-suite. The staff were welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Each morning there was a cooked breakfast made to order, as well as a continental option, which was lovely. I’d consider staying there again if I’m back in the area.

The place is affordable, right next to the beach, and the view is amazing. The breakfast was amazing too. I’d visit again.
