Green Elephant Backpackers

The staff were very friendly and helpful when we had an issue with the mattress, and they sorted it out right away. Our room with an ensuite bathroom was clean and quiet, and the shared kitchen was well equipped and always clean too. We had a really nice vacation there. It's a good base for exploring Cape Town.

It was easy to make friends from all over the world at Green Elephant, and the kind, helpful staff made it feel like a home away from home. I had such a beautiful stay and can't wait to return to South Africa. Everything you need is within walking distance in this fun, lively neighborhood: cafés, bars, vintage shops, grocery stores, and takeaways. The location is ideal, close to Cape Town's CBD while still near the outskirts. The hostel is very clean, with lots of places to hang out, a bar, and two well-equipped kitchens. Spending summer afternoons relaxing by the pool was one of my favorite parts. Thanks to everyone at Green Elephant for making the time so special. I spent almost a month at Green Elephant, and it was a really great experience. The friendly owners and staff were approachable and always willing to help, and the rooms were clean. It feels relaxed and welcoming, and works well for both short and longer stays. The common kitchen has everything you might need for cooking. There are also comfortable lounge areas for working, chatting, or unwinding. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for convenient, friendly accommodation.

I spent two months here on a work trip in Cape Town and was really glad I chose it. My private apartment had a comfortable bed, room to work or relax, and a kitchen where I could make my own meals. Parking was easy too, with plenty of space behind a fence, plus street parking. I especially liked taking my laptop out by the pool in the sun. The Wi-Fi worked well both indoors and in the courtyard, which was also a nice spot to sit with food and a drink and watch sport. The place is in a handy part of Observatory for students, hospital workers, and visitors. The staff were welcoming, and the cleaning team were consistently friendly and careful with my things. They shared travel tips and recommendations for places to visit and eat. The owners often arranged outings for guests, and I was invited to braais several times. I enjoyed staying here and would choose it again on a return to Cape Town.
