We'd booked all 8 rooms months ahead for our group's Cape Town trip. Later, a friend of one of us contacted the owner separately to ask about another room. The owner said one was available, so she paid for a separate reservation to join us. But when we arrived, there was no ninth room for her. We had to squeeze her into one of our already crowded rooms, which inconvenienced the others. It seemed the owner assumed we wouldn't leave her stranded once we were there, and kept most of her payment despite the cramped arrangement. It felt like that was the goal. Reply to the owner: No mistake, it's the place.

We paid for 3 nights and left after just 1. The suite we'd booked was overbooked, so we were put in a much smaller room with barely enough space around the bed and only a small bathroom. We were told our paid-for suite was still occupied and wouldn't be available until further notice. The host gave us inconsistent explanations about when we'd get the right room, and we were frustrated and dissatisfied. The place is basically a house with a small outdoor pool. There was no indoor or heated pool, and the "pool" board was missing. We were told it was broken, but it wasn't on the premises. The Jacuzzi, which is marketed as the main attraction, costs an extra R250 per session. The suites don't have working cooking facilities, so guests are expected to use the main kitchen in the host's personal living space. That felt intrusive and uncomfortable. It seemed poorly managed, with misleading descriptions of the space's size and features. There are no security cameras on the premises, despite the host claiming otherwise in replies to other reviews. If you leave after arriving unhappy, don't expect a refund. It felt more like staying in someone's home than in a professional guesthouse. Maybe it works if all you need is a basic place to sleep and leave, but otherwise it was disorganised, uncomfortable, and disappointing.

It was a fun spot for my birthday sleepover. The setting is quiet and nice for a little getaway with family, friends, or loved ones. The staff were welcoming, the rooms clean, and the place comfortable.

I had a great stay. The location is good, the team are friendly, polite, and helpful, and the service is among the best. The beds are very, very good.
