We were lucky to have good weather in Cape Town, though this side of the city can have quite different weather from the north west. From Marlborough Mansions, it’s just a few minutes along the promenade to the sea, or a one-minute walk to the red bus tour stop. The MyCiti bus is a few minutes away too, and is a local, safe way to get around the city and up the west coast. Check its routes, since it doesn’t go everywhere. The Air BnB has a lovely courtyard in the middle of the mansions, and there are several entrances and exits. People do sit in the streets begging, but it didn’t feel hazardous or like a safety concern. We had a great stay in this wonderful city, with the sea and Lion's head in sight.

The building is beautiful, old but functional, and the location is great, close to large, good supermarkets and a 24-hour convenience shop. Although it’s opposite a busy roundabout used by cars, buses, and bikes heading to the main beaches, it wasn’t too noisy in our unit, which didn’t face the street. There’s no gatekeeper, but the building feels safe. Fiber internet is already installed in many units. You might not get much sun, which can actually be an advantage in summer.

This place has its own vibe, and the building is a nice icon. It’s right at the end of Sea Point, just after the last cercle, with the sea literally about 20 metres away. That prime location is what really makes it stand out.
