Morea House, Autograph Collection

Dining at Omri was a highlight. Chef Joe and the team serve Lebanese and Eastern Mediterranean food that’s creative, full of flavour, and exceptional. We spent almost a week at Morea House in Camps Bay as a family of five, and the stay exceeded our expectations. We slept really well in the spacious, beautifully designed rooms, which were quiet even in the ocean-view rooms near the road. The views across the ocean and mountains were breathtaking, and the sunset from the pool terrace was unforgettable. The caring, professional staff made the place special, with thoughtful little gestures throughout. Special thanks to Charlie, Thabo, Alessandro from the night shift, and Adrien. Great food, lovely design, a fantastic location, and warm hospitality. We’re already making plans to return.

We enjoyed ourselves so much that I forgot to take any pictures. We came for an anniversary staycation, and the room was ready when we arrived, with a lovely gift and cake waiting for us. A great touch. Check-in was wonderful: a staff member walked us to the garage and helped with our bags, and the receptionist was welcoming and friendly. The architecture and design are so distinctive, and every piece feels considered. It was like walking through Architectural Digest. As a builder with an architect wife, I loved that we didn’t feel the need to leave the hotel. We had drinks by the pool, got ready for dinner, and then had an excellent, top-notch meal at Omri. Jack served us at breakfast and his energy was great. We also used the chic gym and spa. Loved the hotel!

I liked the room’s beautiful design and stunning mountain view, and the breakfast had lots of options and great lattes. Check-in was easy and the staff were very welcoming during our five-night stay. I did wish there were an outlet in the bathroom for styling tools, or at least a table by the bedroom mirror. The spa was great, and my husband enjoyed a couples massage that the concierge made easy to schedule. I found it odd that they didn’t offer us the sauna and cold plunge, though we were able to ask to use them after the massage. The gym was fantastic and clean, with excellent cold water provided. The pool is small, but worked fine for cooling off. The pool staff are still training and never checked on us, though they were friendly and easy to find when we went over to them. I had a fantastic stay, and think the hotel will keep improving since it only recently opened.

The interiors are amazing, and the service was excellent. Everyone we met was friendly, helpful, and caring. We were lucky to try this beautifully designed, newly opened hotel and its amenities during its first month. Its location is perfect. The one thing that disappointed us a little was that the hotel bars and restaurant had run out of MCC. We understand the early days can make it hard to predict stock and consumption. We loved our stay and would definitely like to come back.
