Neighbourgood Newlands

The staff were friendly, but the hotel wasn’t ready for us. We arrived a little early and didn’t mind waiting for check-in. Once check-in time arrived, though, we were told there was no clean bedding and had to wait even longer. We checked in much later than expected. After just one night, I knew I wouldn’t return. Since then, they’ve sent several emails asking me to review the stay. They may not be ready when you arrive, but they’re certainly ready to fill your inbox afterward.

We stayed for a week in January 2026, and our children felt safe enough to stay there on their own for the whole month of January. The hotel is very functional and well equipped. Breakfast was very good, and the rooms were exceptionally clean. We could cook in the spacious, fully equipped kitchen and use the laundry facilities ourselves. Shopping centers and supermarkets were just a five-to-ten-minute walk away. The service deserves special recognition, especially from Kanyisa, Arlene, and Walter. We had a great time with our student group. The cafe had really good food and service, and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The rooms were comfortable too. The shower water was either very hot or very cold, and the towels weren’t replaced. Apart from that, we really loved our stay.

We felt genuinely cared for at Neighbourgood Newlands. The staff were consistently kind and went above and beyond, making us feel welcome and appreciated. Our room was immaculate and comfortable, and the bed felt like sleeping on a cloud. The surroundings and food also made a lasting impression. The location was okay. We had a memorable stay and hope to return.
