Ocean Breeze

We had a three-night stay on the second floor, and nearly everything in our room was broken, faulty, or coming apart. The oceanfront location was the only thing going for the hotel. It may have been nice once, but those days seem long gone. Avoid if you can. The bedside lamp switch was broken, the bathroom light switch was faulty, and the sink tap was loose. The balcony door lock was broken, the kitchen counter had been sealed with hot glue instead of silicone, and the kitchen light stopped working while we were there. The couch was held together with duct tape, the room's door latch was snapped off, and the lobby elevator's up button didn't work.

A lovely break from the city, right on the beach and a perfect base for taking in the beautiful surroundings. The service was friendly and great, and I enjoyed the bartender and the morning breakfast staff. I'll definitely be back. Thank you!

The beachside location and ocean views are fantastic, and the hotel has the potential for a memorable stay. Our weekend visit fell short, though. When we arrived around 3 pm, our assigned room hadn't been cleaned, and at first we weren't given parking. After we changed rooms, the veranda there was dirty too. The next morning the room was flooded, apparently because the fridge had stopped working and its ice melted overnight. The staff were friendly, but the hotel was noisy. Sounds echo through the passages, and many guests talk, sing, and move around loudly in the mornings. It seemed connected to different cultural habits rather than anyone being deliberately rude, but it made the stay harder for people who want peace and quiet. If you're after a calm, restful visit, this might not suit you. The rooms also need better upkeep and finishing. Paint was peeling off the counters, the furniture was worn, and small maintenance problems detracted from what could otherwise be a great beachfront hotel. The setting is superb, but management needs to address cleanliness, repairs, and noise.

Good value for money at Ocean Breeze Hotel. The staff were friendly and professional, and the rooms were clean and tidy. I'd recommend it and stay here again when I come to the Cape. Arnold from JHB
