The room's main light barely worked, and the reception staff seemed to have no manager. I booked and paid through booking, then got an email from the hotel with a payment link saying breakfast wasn't included. I had to send my booking confirmation to show that I had paid and that breakfast was included. Check-in took a very long time, and towels were missing from the room. On the final night of our three-night package, there were no towels at all, so we had to ask reception. We were due to leave at 5 am and had requested takeaway breakfast four times, but by 8:30 pm there was still nothing ready. In the end, we had to ask the kitchen ourselves to get something. Now they're asking us to pay 500 ZAR for two broken glasses, saying that's a favour because the usual price would be 1,000 ZAR. Do they buy crystal glasses? 😂 Never stay here. I can't help wondering whether they dislike foreign tourists, or might even be racist.

I had a deeply upsetting stay at WINK Aparthotel One Thibault after a gold diamond ring went missing from inside my room. I noticed it was gone after housekeeping had accessed the room, and I reported it to management straight away. I cooperated fully and opened an official police case. I'm still waiting for a proper resolution and compensation. The hotel's response has been disappointing: no clear urgency, no transparent account of any investigation, and no meaningful accountability. My follow-ups were often ignored or unanswered, with no proper updates. Waiting for information that never came meant extending my stay at my own expense, causing financial loss, stress, and emotional distress. The handling of a serious incident involving a guest's belongings in a private room raises concerns about security, internal procedures, and management responsibility. I believe this was handled irresponsibly and will keep pursuing the appropriate formal and legal channels for a fair outcome. I'm sharing this so future guests know how incidents like this may be handled, or left unhandled, at this property. UPDATE, in response to the hotel's reply, dated April 28th: the reply doesn't address the main issues, and the matter remains unresolved. A “Do Not Disturb” sign was clearly on my door when the incident happened, yet the room was accessed. The ring went missing during my stay and I reported it immediately. No clear, transparent explanation has been given about how the room was entered or what internal investigation took place. Management's communication has been inconsistent and insufficient, and my attempts to get clear information and follow-up have not received a satisfactory, structured response. There is still no clarity, accountability, or resolution. I am requesting a formal written explanation of how the room was accessed despite the sign, what investigation was conducted, what findings were reached, and what responsibility is being acknowledged. If this isn't properly addressed, I'll escalate through the relevant tourism and consumer protection channels. Guests should be able to count on basic security, clear communication, and responsible handling of serious incidents at paid accommodation.
From November 14th to January 10th, I stayed here. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the room was exceptional. Breakfast at the Annex restaurant was delicious too. I'd definitely stay again next time I'm in Cape Town.
I can't recommend staying here. One of the cleaning ladies took 100 euros from my closed bag. I opened the door for her, gave her a tip, then left her alone to clean for 30 minutes. I reported it to the manager, Simfumene Sipamla, and filed a complaint. I had to ask several times for an update. They said the person would need to take a lie detector test. I've been trying to reach Simfumene Sipamla for 1.5 months to get my money back, even though the cleaning company is outsourced. Someone needs to repay me. This badly harms The Wink's reputation, and it makes you wonder whether they're accomplices who condone theft. Please contact me urgently about my money. Thank you.
It feels like a home away from home, and the customer service is excellent. The restaurant offers an unlimited amount of food to choose from. Wink Aparthotel is a great place to stay, and I'd recommend it.
