Onyx 821 by CTHA

The Onyx is in a great spot, and we were lucky enough to be there during the international Jazz festival across the road. My mother and I stayed from 24 April to 6 May last year, and the service made the whole visit a delight. Everyone was attentive, from the breakfast cafe and evening restaurant teams to reception, the concierges and room attendants. We’d recommend it again and again for the food, convenience, cleanliness, location and especially the service. Thanks to everyone there at the time.

Our corner room had a balcony, plenty of cupboard space, gowns and slippers, plus a new iron. It was spacious and super clean, with a good shower and strong water pressure. The Wi-Fi was great, and the room was quiet. Check-in was quick, the lifts were fast, and parking felt easy and safe. The location is central, with a few stores nearby and a connection to the Convention Centre. There were restaurants downstairs that looked great. We’ll definitely return.

We used Ubers every day to get to and from The Onyx, which is also conveniently close to shops and the VA Waterfront. After nine nights, we were pleased with every part of our stay. The rooms were spotless, and housekeeping was efficient. We ate at the restaurant each morning and were happy with the buffet choices, especially the wonderful staff who looked after everything we needed. Reception were just as friendly and helpful whenever we had questions or needed assistance. I thoroughly recommend it.

We were happy with the roomy two-bedroom suite, the service and the location. It had a living area, large windows, soft beds and a small balcony. There was also a well-equipped kitchen, though we didn't use it, and parking was available. Breakfast was included in the room rate. The Onyx Hotel is close to V&A Waterfront, with many hotels nearby, and the Asian Restaurant on site serves delicious food. I'd recommend the Onyx Hotel/Apartment for a stay in Capetown.
