Wex 1 Apartments

Woodstock’s location made it easy to get to the cafes, markets, and galleries, and it’s a good spot for experiencing Cape Town’s creative energy. The building is well maintained, with solid security and a management team that’s friendly and goes out of its way to help. The apartments have lots of natural light, plenty of room, and lovely views over the lively neighbourhood. I was impressed by the modern, stylish design and the care put into making the space comfortable. A great choice if you want a contemporary place in an exciting part of town. Highly recommended!

There’s a great lobby on the 4th floor, with a gym, pool, and work area. Parking is inside the building, with one space available, which worked well. The flats are neat and nicely done, and I found the security friendly and helpful. It’s a really good spot near the heart of Cape Town. Load shedding is a problem, though. The apartments get very dark, especially the bathroom, so bring a torch.

The place felt unsafe and uncomfortable as well as badly managed. The building often smelled of weed despite the strict no-smoking rules, and I saw small empty cocaine bags in the parking lot. I strongly advise against staying here. What I got through Booking.com was very different from the listing. It was advertised as a one-bedroom apartment with a balcony, but it was a small studio, far under 60 sqm, with no real bedroom or balcony. The bathroom floods when you shower, cleaning utensils were missing, and there was already a broken chair when I checked in. It was misleading and overpriced, a disaster. Communication was extremely poor. Two weeks before check-in I asked for an extra key, and was promised several times that someone would contact me. I kept hearing that the request had been forwarded or that I’d be contacted, but nobody ever followed up. The cleaning staff entered without my approval, used the facilities, and left the apartment in worse condition. The service and management were unprofessional and unreliable. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The parking was a little confusing, though I could forgive that. Max at the entrance was really friendly, and the hotel room was spotless. I liked the atmosphere in both the lobby and the room. The bathroom looked lovely, with cool lighting, and the building’s yellow and black theme is beautiful.
