The lady told us to leave after I reported a strong musty smell in the room and water damage on the ceiling. She promised a refund, but instead blocked my husband. Then she said her husband is a High Court judge, which felt like an attempt to intimidate me. She chased us away, and now lies that we never stayed there. I have all the WhatsApp messages showing how she threatened me with her husband, who is a High Court judge. You stole my money! I want my money back.

After a long motorcycle ride, the pool was a lovely way to unwind. I also really enjoyed the peaceful ocean view and sounds. The room was clean and well kept, though the main light was a little dim. Check-in took a short while, but the host was incredibly welcoming and made me feel at home. Service was great otherwise, and I’d highly recommend 14 Penguin Place in Melkbosstrand for a relaxing, peaceful stay.

Santie was such an amazing host. From the moment we arrived, it felt like I’d known her forever. The place is right by the beach, and being pet-friendly is a great bonus. My room was comfortable, clean and well stocked, with a nice garden and amazing sunset views. The sunset itself was incredible. I only wish we’d stayed longer, so next time we will. It’s a real retreat for body and mind.

We had a problem with our booking and weren’t fully compensated for the downgrade. When we raised it, the host and her son responded in a hostile and unprofessional way. Their behavior before the stay made us uncomfortable and unwelcome, and the situation was handled without professionalism. The B&B’s location and amenities may be appealing, but because of our experience with the host, we can’t recommend it. Future guests should be aware that disagreements may arise if problems come up. I hope the host takes this feedback on board and improves her customer service.

Santie was such a warm host, and her little dachshunds were just as lovely. It’s a peaceful, beautiful place for the whole family, furry friends included. We relaxed to the sound of the waves, read in the garden, put our feet up and took a dip in the pool. Would recommend it 100 percent. You’ll see us soon. 🌊🏖️
