Pineapple House Boutique Hotel

A great location for staying in Cape Town, and they gave us a lovely welcome when we arrived. The bed was really comfortable. The room was small, but that didn't matter at all. Thanks for having us!

We were a little disappointed, especially since Pineapple House Boutique Hotel isn't cheap. They knew we were travelling with a baby or toddler because we paid for a cot, but there was no baby chair at breakfast, which seems like a basic need for a family-friendly hotel. The parasol on our terrace was broken and leaning to one side. We asked for help and agreed it could be fixed the next day, but nobody came during our stay, so we couldn't sit out on the terrace.

Breakfast was uncomfortable too, with kitchen staff spraying strong cleaning chemicals on the tables while food was still there. One of the pools was dirty and cloudy. The bigger problem was my room's electrical fault: all the lights kept turning on by themselves every five minutes throughout the night. Each time I woke with my heart racing, unsure if someone had come into the room. With no night reception or staff available to help, I had nobody to turn to and ended up sleeping with the lights on all night. The owners insisted the fault wasn't their responsibility instead of acknowledging it. I booked two nights at Pineapple Boutique Hotel in Cape Town and expected a relaxing boutique stay, but the lack of help and the way my complaint was handled made it very disappointing.

Pineapple 🍍 House is such a lovely, distinctive boutique hotel. There are gorgeous plunge pools and little corners where you can sit with a book, a good coffee or a refreshing cocktail.
