The staff were excellent, friendly, and helpful, and the location is great. It makes the state of the rooms all the more disappointing. They're dated and not very clean, and the stairs had me reaching for the railing. There were no curtains, so bright light shone in all night, and the air-conditioning felt like it badly needed cleaning. They started refurbishing during the week we were there, which meant drilling, dust, and plenty of noise. The food was poor too. I run the company staying here as CEO, but somehow got what seemed like the worst room. Maybe that's egalitarian management, or maybe my colleagues have a sense of humour. This place needs renovation. With the location and staff, it could be great once the work is done. For now, staying here felt a bit like being in a building site.

I had a terrible payment experience. They required payment before check-in and asked for a bank transfer. I sent it from the US and provided proof, but at check-in they said it hadn't arrived and charged my card as well. After I showed them that I'd paid, they agreed to refund me. There's still no refund and no meaningful response. I wouldn't stay here. They seem uninterested in customer service, and I wonder why Marriott still has them as a member. This is not what I'd expect as a Platinum Marriott member, or as any customer.

We had a lovely, comfortable stay and the service was professional. The rooms could use some updating, as a few fixtures are showing their age, but we love staying here.

We booked the set menu for Valentine's Day, and it was absolutely worth the money. We really enjoyed the evening. Charlie, our server, was amazing and attentive. We'll definitely be back soon!
